I could not resist this last photo, my grand daugher Brisa dressed as YODA! for Halloween. She learned how to say

“Yoda”, it was her new favorite word, so there was no doubt who she was.

Deyrolle

Deyrolle is a natural history store in Paris. When I went to Paris to work on the book, “Pansy Goes to Paris”, we walked by this store on Rue du Bac. My son Danny, said “lets go in”. I was not sure, but once I saw the old wooden floor and all the antique cases filled with amazing things, I was hooked, I LOVED it. It might seem a bit creepy to some as there were taxidermy animals everywhere, but it really was not creepy at all, it was just like being in the back room of a very old natural history museum. My window this month is my version of Deyrolle.

I would like to thank Susan Holcomb for this You Tube Video. I borrowed her music for my store window. I contacted Susan about using this video and music, she lives in Australia, but used to live in Marin. Small World. This video shows Deyrolle after the fire. Several years ago Deyrolle had a horrible fire, the people who loved Deyrolle were devastated. As you can see it has been restored and has reopened. I feel very fortunate to have been at Deyrolle before the fire.

Luca’s Big Decision

Luca came with his parents to pick out his own Steiff Bear. It took some time, but he finally decided on the big one. (He, of course, made sure it had its button.)
